Today CHSFS Birthcountry tours include tours to China and India as well as Korea. Experienced staff versed in the cultural history and adoption practices of Korea selected theitinerary and program activities.

As you plan such a journey for your family, it may be helpful to consider issues raised in the article W hen is the Best Time To Travel, Birthland Services Supervisor for CHSFS.

Tour China! 2006 and Tour Korea! 2006...they've returned!

Korea: Summer's birthland trips to Korea and China were fabulous. Highlights of the Korea trips included opportunities to get out and meet Korea's people with the help of host families and a group of English speaking volunteers through a Korean organization called InKas. We enjoyed making pottery under the instruction of a Korean potter and a solo artist taught us to play a song on the Kayageum, a Korean stringed instrument. Parents loved their visit to the specific Korean agencies involved in their adoption. Many participants requested that arrangements be made to meet their child's foster and birth families. We offered choices to try to address the diverse interests of the group. We ranged from a mountain hike to baseball game to a great Nanta Theater performance. Join us at the upcomingTour Korea! 2007 Information Session

China: China highlights included a walk on the Great Wall of China, flying kites in Tiananmen Square and a walk through the Forbidden City. Texas can't hold a candle to China when speaking about all things big. These gates, grounds and buildings were HUGE!!! The children enjoyed making dumplings in the Hutong Village and learning to write their names in Chinese characters. Five different orphanages were visited with opportunities to visit the children's finding place. The ages of 9-11 were perfectly suited for this bonding experience. Join us at the upcoming Tour China! 2007 Information Session.

We are recruiting for next years Tour Korea! 2007 and Tour China! 2007 tours with information sessions and written mailings. Contact jlee@chsfs.org to get on the tour mailing list.

Still Time To Register for Tour India! 2007
