 | Intermediary services offer clients professional and confidential exchanges of information among members of the adoption triad (adopted person, adoptive parent, and birth parents). This service protects the privacy of all parties involved, unless the parties choose to waive their privacy. Intermediary services include providing updated information for the file, exchanges of information, photographs, gifts, or phone calls through the intermediary, and requests for direct, identifying contact with a genetic relative. Services are limited to and depend on what is permitted and available in each respective birth country. Pre-and post-intermediary counseling are important components of this service.
