One trip of 2-3 weeks will be required to complete an adoption from Vietnam; one or both parents must travel. Child referrals will come from the Ben Tre, Binh Thuan, or Vinh Long provinces. During this trip, parents receive their child through a "giving and receiving" ceremony, and then travel to Hanoi to finalize the adoption.
During this process, parents will be escorted and cared for by our in-country staff. Parents will stay in hotels with staff members bringing them to official appointments, translating and assisting them throughout their stay in Vietnam. There will also be some time for sightseeing to experience the child’s country and culture; most parents in our earlier program spent a few days at one of Vietnam’s beautiful seaside resorts.
