Russia Adoption Requirements
Our Russia Program welcomes many potential adoptive parents.
Contact UsGet Started

  • Married couples and single women may adopt children in Russia.
  • Generally, there should be no more than 47 years’ difference between mother and child.
  • There is no specific limit on the number of children already in your family.
  • Families need not be open to gender; however, if they are, their process will likely be shorter.
  • Length of marriage requirement varies on a case-by -case basis; please ask.
  • Some medical conditions will preclude adoption in Russia. Please check with us if you have a significant medical history.

In some cases, the above restrictions may be flexible depending on the best interest of the child.
