| You and/or your spouse may be required to stay for a specific length of time for the adoption which actually takes place in the country. The typical stay in Ecuador lasts about 4 weeks. Honduras requires two trips. These stays, however, are extremely unpredictable in both countries and can lengthen with little or no notice.
This time will allow you to learn more about your child's country and become familiar with their culture and customs. Our in-country representatives will guide you through the logistics of your stay and the legal process. You will attend a court hearing with the help of a translator. You may possibly visit the orphanages and children's caretakers.
Our representatives can assist you with travel to other cities within the country if you desire. We encourage families to take advantage of waiting times, spending time with your child and time getting to know their home country.
