PARENT'S CAMP PROGRAM
On all three days of camp, we are happy to offer parents several choices to partake in learning sessions while their children are in class.

Families that attend on Saturday are then welcome to join campers and counselors for a lunch and social after Camp Closing Assembly. The parent class schedule is as follows:

    Thursday Aug. 7, 10:00-11:30
    LifeBooks

LifeBooks are way to capture memories and remember your child’s life through stories, pictures, or other documents. The books are meant to help children and others better appreciate their history. They have also been a great asset for children’s understanding their adoption. Please join us for this fun and informative session.

Thursday Aug 7, 1:15-2:45                                                                     Maintaining Birth Culture

Come join us as we share information and ideas about ways to maintain birth culture and incorporate it into our daily lives.  This workshop will be set up as a discussion group - so please bring your suggestions and ideas to share with the group so we can all learn from each other!

    Friday Aug. 8, 10:00-11:30
    Answering Questions About Adoption

Got questions? What kinds of questions do our children ask? When are they developmentally ready for what answers? How and when do we talk to them about adoption? Do strangers ask questions in the grocery store? Oh yes, we "got questions?" Let's explore together so we have the best answers for the right situation.

Friday Aug. 8, 1:15-2:45                                                                              Basic Korean Lesson

Learn some basic Korean phrases and introduction to the alphabet.

Saturday Aug. 9, 10-11:30, followed by lunch 12:00-1:30
    Panel w/ Adopted Persons

Join us to learn from the perspectives of adopted persons, and what they have learned about growing up in transracial and adoptive families. Panelists include Asian American and African American adults that were adopted as children from India, the US, and Korea.
