Thailand's Culture

  • Thais do not shake hands, rather, they place their hands together in a prayer-like manner as their greeting
  • It is considered rude to point your foot at someone
  • The Thai people consider the head a sacred part of the body, so it is frowned upon when someone touches the head of another
  • Thais believe very much in personal cleanliness and will bathe daily
  • The most common spectator sport is Muay Thai, otherwise known as kickboxing
  • Confrontation is considered rude
  • Bargaining is a common technique used in Thailand
