Mission: Inspired by God's love, we care for, support and strengthen individuals, families and communities.  LSS has provided services to adoptive and birth families for over 85 years.  We are licensed by the State of South Dakota as a child placement agency and also are accredited by the Council of Accreditation (COA).

Adoption Services:

• Regularly scheduled information meetings for families considering adoption
• Individual consultations with families considering adoption
• Support groups for families in the adoption process
• Two-way adoptive parent training

Post Adoption Services:

• Post adoption counseling (therapist/social workers on staff)
• Individual and family counseling
• Post adoption parent education groups
• Referrals for post adoption counseling and support groups
• Support groups for parents
• Search/intermediary/openness services

Birth Parent Services:

• Pregnancy counseling
• Birth parents' support groups
• Open adoption counseling
• Resources for parenting
• Mentoring

Geographic Service Area: Lutheran Social Services of South Dakota serves the entire state of South Dakota.

General Information Meetings: Usually these fall on the second Monday of every Month, with some changes due to Holidays
