Fee schedule for Korean Intermediary Services:

Contact a Post -Adoption intake worker to receive a Korean Intermediary Service registration form.  If this is your first Post-Adoption contact, a $35 registration fee will be collected.

Services provided without cost include:

  • Update the Korean agency record
  • Seek Korean agency file review for additional information
  • Locate a foster mother if Korean agency has current address
  • Locate the existence of a maternity clinic, hospital or orphanage
  • Exchange letters whenin an active exchange with birthfamily, foster family or nurses/ care workers/ orphanage staff

In addition to the services above, the following services can be provided for an additional fee of $50 if the family is traveling to Korea:

  • Arrange meeting at agency to meet with post-adoption worker
  • Arrange meeting with foster mother, if possible
  • Arrange meeting with located birthfamily members, if possible**
  • Review record at agency, if you meet their age requirement**

*additional translation and/or postage fees may be assessed as needed

**These services are available to adopted persons over the age of 13 in the case of Eastern Social Welfare Society and to adopted persons over the age of 18 in the case of Korean Social Services.  Social Welfare Society and Holt International do not have minimum age requirements.

A search fee for birthfamily members and foster family is charged when the current address is unknown to client.  The one-time $300* search fee helps to cover the costs of the initial translation, initial postage, recordkeeping, transportation and worker time necessary in locating and contacting the individuals. The service fee helps cover the cost of delivering the service, but does not guarantee success in locating the person nor their response to the contact request.

*Please consult the agency if a financial hardship keeps you from requesting a search.  Fee adjustments or a payment schedule can be discussed.

Korean agency post-adoption workers meet with many tours and individual visitors throughout the year.  We highly encourage you to make your Intermediary Service Request at least one year before you travel to Korea.  Service requests made less than two months prior to travel are subject to a $150 fee to expedite the request.

An agency translator may be hired for a $15-per-page fee and $5 transaction fee ($20 total), or you may use your own translator.

If you wish to request service, please complete the registration email.  You will be sent a registration packet with forms to be filled out and returned, along with the $35 registration fee, to Post Adoption Services, CHSFS, 1605 Eustis Street; St. Paul, MN 55108. If you should have any questions or concerns, please contact PAS Intake at 651-255-2437 or email: pas@chsfs.org
