Colombia Adoptions

With your help, we can provide much needed support for our partnering organizations in Colombia.

Ayudame (Asociacion Amigos del Nino Ayudame), Bogota, Colombia. Ayudame first functioned as a day care center for children, then a shelter for about 30 children, and finally, in 1981, began its program of adoption. In 1982 its program for birth mothers opened. Ayudame continues its work as a shelter/crisis nursery, a home for birth mothers and an adoption agency. Our goal is to provide on-going support of $10,000 per year to assist with general care and operations.

Centro para el Reintegro y Atención del Niño, CRAN, Bogata, Colombia. CRAN provides a variety of support services through its organization. Their mission is to offer temporary protection for women and children who have been abandoned and who have received physical and emotional maltreatment. Our goal is to distribute $20,000 per year to support operational expenses, staff, food, child and parent education, medical care and miscellaneous supplies.

Los Pisingos. This organization was founded over 30 years ago as a shelter in Bogota, Colombia for young pregnant women with no alternatives for their pregnancies. It has been operated by locally donated funds, international adoption funds and donations from adoption organizations. It has a live-in home for pregnant women, a nursery and paid foster care for infants, protection services for victimized women and a training program for women who are heads of their households. Our goal is to send $10,000 yearly to support the operations at Los Pisingos.

La Casita Nicolas. La Casita Nicolás (LCN), located in Medellin, is a non-profit organization founded in 1978 to protect and restore the rights of infants and young children age 0 to 10 years of age who have been subjected to abuse, violence or abandonment. It achieves its mission through a variety of approaches. Concurrent with its child protection services, LCN offers comprehensive medical and counseling services to birth mothers so they may make the best decision possible for them and their biological child. Funding up to $30,000 per year will go to support operational expenses, staff, food, child and parent education, medical care and miscellaneous supplies.

Chiquitines. Founded in 1978 in Cali, Colombia, their vision is to offer children who have already been declared legally abandoned a temporary home that guarantees their fundamental rights and provides them high quality care to ensure their proper growth and development. Services include vaccinations, treatment to eliminate parasites and dental care. Chiquitines also strives to eliminate abandonment by assisting women in need with a broad spectrum of social services. Our goal is to raise up to $18,000 per year to support operational expenses.
