Children’s Home Academy A new international English/Amharic elementary school, grades kindergarten through sixth grade, has been established and supported, under a partnership between CHSFS Ethiopia and the Addis Ababa City Administration. International paid staff, volunteers, and Ethiopian education professionals are integral to the mission of this school. The school will eventually provide the means for up to 80 students from low-income families to attend at no cost along with others who pay a nominal tuition. Our goal is to support the educational needs of disadvantaged school-age children from the broader Addis Ababa community.
Sipara Mother and Child Health Center The purpose of this project is to provide community based medical care to disadvantaged and underserved women and children in and around Addis Ababa.
Family Development Program This community-based project is in the Hossana area. The Family Development Program will help meet the immediate needs of families, such as food and clothing, while building the foundation for self-sufficiency. Based on individualized needs, families in this program are helped to start a small business. Our goal is to raise ongoing funding to enroll more families in the program.
Family Assistance Fund Located in the southern region, this program is designed to support vulnerable families and keep them intact. Initially we will serve families with children enrolled at the Hossana school to eliminate barriers to achieving a successful education. Services will include medical care, nutritional support as well as counseling and referral services, and hygiene and disease prevention training.
