Every agency defines their Colombia fees differently and this causes confusion when comparing costs. We have provided a cost calculators at the bottom of this page, that will help estimate the possible TOTAL costs for a Colombia adoption.
Part I: Adoption Study and Preparation Costs
For a general breakdown of adoption study and preparation costs click here.
Part II: Colombia Country Program Fees
These are required humanitarian aid support costs that vary from $4,000-$14,000 depending on the projects CHSFS supports in Colombia. As many families cannot pay CHSFS program fees all at once, we have phased program fees to occur at different points in the process. Document and miscellaneous fees include: filing with the USCIS and obtaining your child's visa, $1,000, dossier document fees, $400, in-country documents/passports, visa, departure taxes, etc., $700.
Part III: Travel to Colombia
Travel costs for Colombia include Airfare/Taxis at about $1,000/person plus room and board of $6,000 (for a couple + one child under 2 years old), six week stay.
Colombian-American families should call Olga Tasso, Program Coordinator, for cost information. Your costs will be reduced according to ICBF regulations to include only educational and training services.
Total range as reported by families: $15,000 to $25,000
*Fees are subject to change.
