Pre-Adoption Classes (PAC)
Our Pre-Adoption Classes (PAC) provide the foundation for adoptive parent education and training about adoption issues. Participants attend both large and small group sessions during the two days. Panels of adopted persons, birth family members, and adoptive parents with their children are highlights of the training. Topics covered during the workshop include:
- Adoption study process
- Infertility, loss and related issues
- Attachment, identity formation, racism, openness: a child's understanding Example
- Parenting expectations, early adjustment, adoption terminology
- Health/risk factors
- Government and country paperwork
- Post adoption issues

Waiting Families Groups The CHSFS Waiting Families groups meet the 2nd Tuesday of the month, 6-8 p.m. at the Eustis Building, 1605 Eustis Street, St. Paul. Singles and couples welcome. No RSVP Needed
These groups for American Infant Waiting Families and International Waiting Families provide opportunities for families to share their stories and be a part of discussions relating to the waiting process, preparing for your child, program/country updates, and other adoption-related issues - while building connections with other families.
