Enjoying the China Reunion

August 2007’s China Reunion was another successful event!   This year it was held at the FAIR School in Crystal, MN on August 11.  The special event welcomed over 500 people from both near and far to take part in a wide range of cultural and social activities. 

It was extra special this year because we also welcomed three of our reps from China: Chandler, Nancy and Molly. We’re only able to invite our reps every two years.

A very special thank you goes out to industrious Kaitlyn who donated a large bag full of quarters for our Red Envelope project; she raised these quarters by running a lemonade stand earlier in the summer. (Kaitlyn is pictured at right with her generous contribution.)  Thanks to the generosity of your sons and daughters, we surpassed our goal for this year's Red Envelope project and will donate more than a year's worth of heating to a village elementary school in China. We are also thrilled to report that we raised enough funds to support several months of our Tianjin Foster Care project as well as contribute more medical equipment to orphanages through the Project of Love. We thank you for your support!

All of us in the China program enjoyed seeing you and your children.  How exciting it is to see your young ones grow up!  It’s so wonderful to know how many of you stay in touch with others you’ve met through adoption and make an annual effort to reunite.

We give a very hearty thanks to the group of dedicated committee members and volunteers who believe in the benefits of connecting families and celebrating Chinese culture. Also, we extend our gratitude to the tireless few who make up our Events Planning department at CHSFS. Their collaboration is crucial to our China Reunion’s success.
