| Due to poverty in Latin America, birth parents, especially single mothers, sometimes find providing for a child to be difficult. Birth mothers may seek care for their children at hospitals, orphanages, and adoption agencies. In some cases children available for adoption have been removed from their birth family due to abuse or neglect - reconciliation has failed, and adoptive parents are sought. Additionally, of course, children may have lost their parents.
Foster families and private and public orphanages give care and schooling to children until adoptive parents are found. The time frame to complete the adoption process in Ecuador and Honduras can be quite unpredictable.
Currently we are open for adoptive parents who wish to adopt a child they have already identified from one of these countries, or a child from our Waiting International Children program. Children in this program have medical concerns, special needs, are older, or are part of a sibling group.
