Colleen S. McLain, LCSW-C, LICSW

In previous positions, Ms. McLain has worked with adopted children, adoptive parents and birth parents providing her with a thorough understanding of and perspective on the adoption process and, more importantly, adoptive family life.  This knowledge will help CHSFS East continue to focus on quality services for all adoptive families, both pre- and post-adoption.  Ms. McLain also brings with her years of experience in communications, management, development and Board liaison.

 

Abbe Levine, LCSW-C

Abbe has prior experience of working with CHSFS East from 1999 through 2003. She assists particularly in the area of clinical post-adoption services. She has extensive experience working with families, from completing adoption studies to post placement reports, as well as providing supervision for contract workers and presenting on numerous adoption issues and topics.  During her previous tenure with CHSFS East, Abbe served as Maryland Branch Director and as Interim Director of the agency.  Since 1997, Abbe has also worked with adoptive families through her clinical work in private practice.

 

Beverly Clarke, LICSW, LCSW-C

Beverly N Clarke, LICSW, LCSW-C received her Master’s degree in social work in 1999.  She has been with CHSFS East as a contract worker and recently accepted a staff position in 2008 as a social worker who specializes in working with adoptive families. Bev has worked in child welfare, fostering and adoption since 1997.  She is an adoptive parent herself and has a passion for working with the children and families brought together through adoption.

 

Jennifer C. Hannett, LGSW

Jen joined our staff in September 2007. Prior to this time, she worked as a contract social worker with ASIA, conducting home studies and post-placement reports. Jen earned her Master's degree in Social Work from New York University in 2003. She brings with her experience gained through her work as a Child Protective Services Worker, Therapeutic Foster Care Case Manager, and Inpatient Mental Health Therapist.

 

Mollie Davis, LCSW-C, LICSW

Mollie Davis joined the CHSFS staff in July 2008.  She received her Master’s degree in Social Work, with a Clinical focus and Mental Health specialization, from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 2004, and a Bachelor of Psychology degree from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2001.  She brings with her experience gained through providing therapy and case management services to children in an inpatient mental health setting and family therapy to their foster, biological, and adoptive families, work as mental health clinician treating and assessing active duty military personnel, and employment as a case manager provided intensive, community-based services to the chronically mentally ill. 

 

Sarah Wu
China and Ethiopia Program Adoption Specialist

Sarah is a case specialist for the China and Ethiopia Programs.  She has been with CHSFS since 2001 and has continued to develop her passion for helping adoptive families and children.  Prior to coming to the USA, Sarah had years of experience in assisting adoptive families from the USA and European countries by working as their facilitator in China. She has a B.A. degree from Xi’An Foreign Language Institute, China in tourism and Metropolitan State University, USA in Intercultural Communication. 

 

Young Kim
Program Support Specialist

Young was born and raised in Korea. He moved to the U.S. in 1985 and received his MBA from the University of St. Thomas. Young joined the staff in 1999 as a development assistant. Among other responsibilities, Young assists families in the Korea Program.

 

Sue Orban

Ms. Orban’s experience in adoptive family support, international program development, staff supervision and knowledge of organizational quality standards makes her a “Jill of All Trades” and an excellent fit on the CHSFS East team.  Her specific role with CHSFS East will be to support communication and community development within the CHSFS East adoptive family community and to reach out to partnering agencies on the East Coast to promote the services and programs of CHSFS East.

 

Anna Petrillo

Anna has previous experience in helping families complete adoptions from China and Guatemala and organizing programs for adopted children/teens, adopted adults, and adoptive families.  At CHSFS East she works with Tour Korea, Culture Camp, Teen Weekend, and Korean Intermediary Services. In her free time, Anna volunteers with a local organization for adult adopted persons and serves on the board of directors with the D.C. Asian Pacific American Film Festival. Anna was adopted from Korea.

 

Tiara Johnston

Program Assistant

Tiara joined CHSFS East’s staff in August 2006.  She is a recent graduate of the College of William and Mary with a B.A. in Linguistics.  She provides administrative assistance to ASIA's leadership staff and also works with other agency staff members and social workers.  She is thrilled to be working in the world of adoption.

 

 

Angela Simpkins

Angela joined our staff in January 2007.  She had previously worked at the Democratic National Committee for fifteen years wearing many hats as a receptionist, human resources assistant, and assisting in donor and membership development.

 

Katie Ostrowski

Katie joined our staff in October 2008.  She graduated from the University of Florida in 2004 with a B.A. in Anthropology and Spanish.  Katie has a dedicated history of working and volunteering with charitable organizations that serve children and families.  She has a strong passion for cultural studies and is excited to be working in the adoption field.  Katie provides support and assistance to the staff at CHSFS.
