Children's Home Society & Family Services (CHSFS)
Founded in 1889 as part of a nationwide movement to find loving homes for orphaned children, CHSFS has become a premier provider of quality social services for children and families.  In the past three decades, the agency has developed a continuum of care to help children of all ages with a broad spectrum of needs.

Over the past few decades, CHSFS has maintained and strengthened its historical commitment to finding loving families for children from around the world.  Through international placing programs in Asia, Eastern Europe, Latin America and Africa, CHSFS places over 700 children a year with new families across the United States.

In 2005, in an effort to expand our reach to new, prospective adoptive families, CHSFS joined forces with Adoption Service Information Agency (ASIA), located in Silver Spring, MD, just outside of Washington, D.C.  Established in 1981 as a non-profit, full-service adoption agency, ASIA had been preparing and supporting families for adoption for many years.  With similar practice standards, program areas and guiding philosophies, the combination of CHSFS and ASIA has been a great benefit to the children and families we serve.

As a single, combined agency, known as Children’s Home Society & Family Services, we look forward to continuing to provide high quality adoption services to families on the East Coast and across the U.S. as well as to the many, many children in need of families around the world.
