| | Frequently Asked Question #9 Yes, that is called a side trip. Side trips can be arranged through the Korean Intermediary Services (KIS) worker who works with you and/or your family in preparation for your trip. The distance and form of transportation as well as the number travelling will determine if and how much of an added cost the side trip will be. Your KIS worker will inform you of the proposed date, cost and arrangments for your side trip in advance of our departure from the States, so you can decide before you leave whether a side trip is something that you want to do. Sometimes deciding to do a side trip means that you may have to opt out of a group activity. Side trips also include trips to cities to see the place where an adopted person was born, was found, where the clinic is/was located, the hometown of the birthfamily, etc.
